TxUESI Webinar Series – Thinking in 4 Dimensions: Utility Coordination and Relocation Challenges on NHHIP Segment 3
September 10 @ 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM CDT
The North Houston Highway Improvement Project (NHHIP) Segment 3 presents significant utility relocation challenges within one of Houston’s most congested urban corridors. With multiple overlapping projects competing for limited right-of-way, successful delivery requires innovative planning, constructability assessments, and unprecedented coordination among stakeholders. This webinar will explore the strategies, solutions, and lessons learned used to navigate these complexities while maintaining project momentum and preparing for future infrastructure needs. Attendees will gain insight into how a “4-Dimensional” approach—integrating space, time, constructability, and future development considerations—can improve utility coordination and reduce conflicts on large-scale urban transportation projects.
Speaker: Jarrod Compton, Project Director, Atkins Réalis
Jarrod Compton is a Project Director for AtkinsRéalis and has over 20 years of experience in right-of-way surveying, utility mapping, and utility coordination across Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana.
