TexASCE Webinar: Successful Collaboration: From Trepidation to Specifications

This presentation will examine the relationship that is developed between TPWD-HCFCD as a case study of what a collaborative approach can achieve for compatible conservation-engineering solutions, specification development and implementation, and out professional networks. Working from a broad focus on the history and progression of the TPWD-HCFCD relationship down to a narrower focus of outcomes, wrapping up by showcasing the current specifications being implemented for conservation purposes.
Speaker: Rachel Lange MS, CWB
Rachel Lange holds 17 years of professional experience in natural resources with a background that includes wildlife and habitat research, habitat management, environmental investigations, impact assessments, and natural resource problem-solving. She has been employed full-time in the natural resources field since 2009, beginning her career with Texas A&M AgriLife Research. Following her TAMU System employment, she worked in the environmental consulting sector. Rachel joined the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) in 2015 as an Environmental Review Biologist, reviewing myriad proposed developments across southeast Texas. Most recently, Rachel has taken on a leadership role and now serves as Program Leader for TPWD’s Environmental Review Team. Her primary interest within wildlife management lies in the conservation of rare species, communities, and the habitats on which these depend. A passion for the conservation of our more imperiled species and motivation to create conservation solutions are major factors supporting her tenure within the TPWD Environmental Review Team.
