Houston EWRI Exploration Green Walking Tour

April 26 @ 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM CDT

The Texas Section invites you to join the ASCE Houston EWRI Chapter for their upcoming Walking Tour of Exploration Green on April 26.

When: 4:15 – 6:00 PM CT

Join other Environmental and Water Resources Institute members for an immersive walking tour spanning 2-3 miles, exploring the history, design, horticulture, and birding of our local environment. Our journey begins with a dive into the area’s rich history, followed by an exploration of its unique design elements. Along the way, we’ll admire the diverse flora and learn about their ecological significance. Our expert speakers will also guide us in identifying local bird species and understanding their importance in maintaining biodiversity. With three strategic stops for in-depth exploration, this tour offers a dynamic and enriching experience for all. Lace up your shoes and join us for an unforgettable adventure followed by food and drinks.

Exploration Green provides an integrated, natural solution for catastrophic seasonal flooding holding up to 500-million-gallons of stormwater while also serving as a nature preserve and recreation area. Located near NASA’s Johnson Space Center, this 200-acre urban green space provides the community with countless opportunities to explore, offering 40 acres of both wetlands and permanent detention lakes, home to over 1,000 native species.

Please come dressed for the weather in comfortable clothing and sturdy shoes.
