Texas Celebrates ASCE Day

Texas Celebrates ASCE Day

ASCE Day celebrates the Society’s founding on November 5, 1852. Twelve esteemed engineers gathered at New York City’s Croton Aqueduct to establish what would become the American Society of Civil Engineers. This year, to celebrate ASCE Day, members across Texas shared their favorite ASCE memories on social media. We loved reading the many reasons ASCE is important to our members. Below are some of the #ASCEDay posts we saw cross our feed.

Happy #ASCEDay! 🎉 • American Society of Civil Engineers aka ASCE is one of my main orgs and passions. 💕 In case y’all didn’t know, I am a civil engineer. 👷🏽‍♀️ Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways. 🙌🏽 ASCE is an organization that brings civil engineers together and that advocates for the profession. 💙 My favorite thing about ASCE is all the connections I have formed with amazing people who motivate and inspire me every day to be a better person and a better civil engineer. ✨ Shoutout to @asceaustin @ymfaustin @asce_texassection and @asce_yms for getting me involved and for showing me that being a civil engineer means really making a difference in the world! 🌉 #CivilEngineer #ASCEMadeMe #CivilEngineering #ASCEYMS
