Photo Highlights from 2020 ASCE Texas Student Symposium

Over 400 students from universities across Texas and Mexico attended the 2020 ASCE Texas Student Symposium in Arlington March 4-7, 2020. These students came from far and wide to display their hard work, innovation and dedication to the profession at the Symposium, with many of them hauling concrete canoes they’d worked hard designing and building in hopes of winning the Concrete Canoe competition. From innovative research papers and Blue Sky Competition presentations to creative concrete canoe displays and unmatched school spirit, these students showed professionals how bright the future of civil engineering really is.

In addition to participating in several different competitions, students attended soft skills and technical sessions as well as keynotes presented by top professionals in the industry, all while balancing extreme professionalism and exceptional participation in this year’s Symposium Career Fair. Employers were impressed to see so many professionally dressed, articulate, and inquisitive students lining up at Career Fair booths with their resumes in hand.

Thank you to the ASCE Student Chapter at the University of Texas at Arlington and Chi Epsilon – University of Texas Arlington, who did a wonderful job hosting this year. And big thank you to our wonderful Symposium Sponsors who helped make the event possible.

An official recap including Symposium photos is coming soon, but for now, enjoy this short photo highlight of all the fun students had in Arlington!
