When did you first get involved with ASCE at any level (student chapter, local branch, section)?

My first ASCE membership was in the student chapter at SMU, where I was able to compete on the Steel Bridge team.

What do you love the most about being a civil engineer?

I love being able to physically see the impact of the work we do out in the world.

How do you see the civil engineering profession changing over the next 10 years?

The next ten years will see a shift in both the technology we use and the technology we design as civil engineers. We are starting to see the civil engineering catch up with the technologic advances of other industries – for example, the scaling of 3D printed construction.

What is your go-to calculator?

These days – my iPhone!
