Meet Natalie Weiershausen PE, ENV SP, Senior Project Manager, RPS
The ASCE Texas Section Board of Direction members were asked to fill out a questionnaire so that the Section’s members might get to know them a little better on a personal level. These are Natalie Weiershausen PE’s answers.
When did you first get involved with ASCE at any level (student chapter, local branch, section)?
I first got involved in the student chapter at UT Austin, mainly focusing on the free pizza at meetings.
What do you love the most about being a civil engineer?
Going out to see and use the things I help build!
Give us three words to describe what a civil engineer does.
Innovates, Educates, Serves
What is the biggest challenge civil engineers face today?
Educating the public so that their expectations for civil engineering projects are realistic.
How do you see the civil engineering profession changing over the next 10 years?
I think the infrastructure we design will be much greener and our clients will be requiring designs focused around the triple bottom line instead of a singular/or double goal.
What is your go-to calculator?
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Being out doors with all my native plants.
If a tomato is a fruit, does that make ketchup a smoothie?
What is your favorite band?
Mountains or beach?
Mountains. I love to be in cooler weather and hiking.
