May Technical Webinar: Structural Inspection and Condition Assessment for Critical Infrastructure Assets

Register for ASCE Texas Section’s May Technical Webinar, Structural Inspection and Condition Assessment for Critical Infrastructure Assets, presented by Mark E. Williams, PhD, PE, SE

The webinar will take place May 12, 2020 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 PM CST for 1 PDH.

More About the May Technical Webinar Topic

This webinar utilizes the ASCE Infrastructure Report Card as a framework to discuss a standardized process and procedures for conducting inspections and condition assessments of critical infrastructure assets (bridges, dams, water treatment plants, power plants, etc).  Inspection procedure recommendations are provided to aid a qualified team leader in carrying out the planning, observation, classification, and documentation of the physical condition of the asset. Condition assessment procedures are then discussed to determine the need and priority of maintenance, repair, or rehabilitation actions based on information obtained from the structural inspection.

The intent is to provide a systematic and proactive program for managing and maintaining critical infrastructure assets. Texas currently gets a C- grade, so there is still work to be done.
