Dallas & Fort Worth Branches Attend Annual Joint Meeting

Dallas & Fort Worth Branches Attend Annual Joint Meeting

The ASCE Dallas and Fort Worth Branches came together on Friday, July 19, 2019 to break bread and network on the University of Texas at Arlington campus within Nedderman Hall. The Joint Meeting is an annual tradition between the two branches, with the planning and responsibility of the meeting alternating each year between Dallas and Fort Worth. The 2019 edition of the Joint Meeting was hosted by the Fort Worth Branch and their president, Austin Baird PE, LEED AP.

The Joint Meeting kicked off at 9:00 AM with five concurrent technical tracks from the local institutes (CI, GI, EWRI, SEI, and TD&I). Each institute hosted three sessions leading up to the main presentation by Ricardo Gonzalez PE, Director Of Transportation, Planning & Development at the Texas Department of Transportation, giving an update on the Fort Worth District’s projects. The luncheon was followed by an ethics seminar given by John Ho PE, F.NSPE and Roxanne Pillar PE of Huitt-Zollars.

All-in-all, attendees of the Joint Meeting were afforded the opportunity to earn up to 5 PDHs and the chance to network with ASCE Texas Section members from all over the Metroplex!
