Austin YMF Summer Barge Party Success

This past July, ASCE Austin Branch Younger Member Forum joined forces with Young Professionals in Transportation – Austin chapter (YPT-Austin) to host the best party barge in civil engineering history! With approximately 70 ASCE and YPT members in attendance, barge goers were able to network with many young professionals in the civil engineering industry all in the fun atmosphere of a party barge on the lake.

As all good civil engineers do, the trip started off with a safety moment by the barge captain. After attendees were will informed on the safety rules of the barge, the fun commenced. The rest of the trip was filled with snacking, grilling, and swimming in the lake. Barge goers were able to reconnect with familiar faces and become familiar with new ones as the day went on.

Attendees left the event with many fun memories and new civil engineering friends! All in all, it was a successful event with fun times had by everyone.
