Revitalizing Resiliency: CECON 2026 Brings Texas Infrastructure Leaders Together in Corpus Christi

The 2026 Texas Civil Engineering Conference (CECON) focuses on “Revitalizing Resiliency” by evaluating past projects, analyzing current conditions, addressing challenges, and more. This premier event showcases the best in Texas civil engineering, offering unique opportunities to learn, build relationships, and contribute to the industry’s technical diversity. It emphasizes the importance of individual contributions and aims to attract future engineers to the field. Given that our communities’ infrastructure needs improvement, the conference seeks to lay a sustainable foundation for future engineers. The program features a variety of engaging sessions and activities over the 3-day event.
Hosted by the ASCE Texas Section, CECON 2026 will take place September 16–18, 2026, in Corpus Christi, Texas, offering three days of technical education, industry collaboration, professional development, and networking opportunities focused on building stronger, more resilient communities throughout Texas.
Historically, resiliency referred to an infrastructure’s ability to withstand and recover from disruptive events. Today, the concept has expanded to include adaptability, redundancy, sustainability, long-term performance, and equitable access to infrastructure services.
From flood mitigation and water supply reliability to transportation systems and emergency preparedness, resilient infrastructure has become a foundational principle for modern civil engineering. As technologies advance and data-driven decision-making becomes increasingly common, engineers are finding new ways to monitor assets, predict failures, and improve system performance before disruptions occur.
CECON 2026 will provide a forum for discussing these evolving challenges and opportunities while showcasing practical solutions being implemented across Texas and beyond.
Recognized as Texas’ premier civil engineering conference, CECON connects professionals across disciplines and sectors, creating opportunities to learn from industry experts and build relationships that extend beyond the conference. The event attracts a diverse audience that includes consulting engineers, public agency leaders, transportation professionals, water and wastewater experts, construction professionals, geotechnical specialists, emerging leaders, and engineering students.
Last year’s conference welcomed more than 650 attendees, featuring dozens of technical sessions and participation from professionals representing every corner of the infrastructure industry. Nearly half of the attendees worked for public agencies, providing a unique environment for collaboration between the public and private sectors.
The three-day conference schedule includes keynote presentations, panel discussions, technical breakout sessions, networking events, awards recognition, and leadership development opportunities. Attendees can select from a broad range of technical content spanning transportation, geotechnical engineering, construction, architectural engineering, water resources, and general infrastructure topics. Specialized tracks developed in partnership with the Texas chapters of the Transportation & Development Institute (T&DI), Geo-Institute (GI), Construction Institute (CI), and Environmental & Water Resources Institute (EWRI) provide focused learning opportunities tailored to specific practice areas.
Sessions are designed to provide practical knowledge, innovative approaches, and real-world case studies that attendees can immediately apply within their organizations and projects.
