Highlights from the Texas Utility Engineering and Survey Conference: A Resounding Success!
The recent Texas Utility Engineering and Survey Conference, proudly hosted by the esteemed Conrad Blucher Institute at Texas A&M Corpus Christi University, marked an extraordinary milestone, setting new records for both attendance and sponsorship. This year’s gathering, centered around the powerful theme of “Better Together,” truly exemplified the spirit of collaboration and collective advancement within our industry. It brought together an impressive 240 attendees, representing a diverse cross-section of the industry with participants from over 50 companies and 10 different government agencies.

We were thrilled to recognize a record number of generous sponsors, each receiving a unique sea turtle-shaped plaque as a token of our profound appreciation for their invaluable support.

Furthermore, the innovative photo service, which allowed attendees to download professional photographs the very same day, was met with widespread acclaim.
The conference’s robust agenda featured an array of distinguished speakers and insightful sessions, all echoing the “Better Together” ethos. We were honored to host keynote speakers Lawrence Arcand from 4Sight Utility Engineers and Genevieve Haller from the Delaware Department of Transportation, who also serves as the AASHTO CRUO Chair, Technical Council on ROW Engineering. Their perspectives offered invaluable insights into the future of our industry, reinforcing how diverse expertise makes us stronger together. A particularly engaging session on ethics, led by experienced attorneys, provided a thought-provoking and distinct perspective on professional conduct, highlighting the importance of shared values.
In a landmark moment for the conference, we were proud to inaugurate our scholarship program. Two deserving individuals were awarded $2,500 scholarships, and an additional $500 honorable mention scholarship was presented.
