Prairie View A&M University ASCE Student Chapter Update

The Prairie View A&M University ASCE Student Chapter was able to make an impact on a family’s wellbeing by helping them put up the first walls to their new home through a Habitat for Humanity volunteer project.

The Chapter also worked to get middle school students excited about the fun things that occur in civil engineering through an event called Civil Engineering with a Twist.

Prairie View A&M University ASCE Student Chapter members also volunteer at their monthly highway cleanup event.

Plans/Goals for the 2019-2020 School year:

  1. This year the Chapter plans to be a part of the steel bridge competition. Along with entering the competition we’ll be able to connect with other ASCE chapters from other schools.
  2. The Chapter’s goal for the year is to increase the its member retention rate.
