Meet Alik McCoy PE, Project Engineer, 5engineering, LLC

The ASCE Texas Section Board of Direction members were asked to fill out a questionnaire so that the Section’s members might get to know them a little better on a personal level. These are Alik McCoy PE’s answers.

When did you first get involved with ASCE at any level?

I first got involved in the student chapter at Texas A&M by joining the concrete canoe team. We won regionals my senior year when I was one of the co-captains of the team.

What is your favorite thing about ASCE?

Networking and being able to meet other young engineers. I have met some of my closest friends through involvement in ASCE.  

What do you love most about being a civil engineer?

The chance to work on interesting and challenging projects that help the community.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Playing sand volleyball, doing yoga, or going camping. I’m currently training to do the MS 150, so just a lot of cycling lately.

What would your superpower be?

Flying. It would make visiting my family much easier.

Definitely Mountains
