20+ Civil Engineers Unite for PE Day in El Paso

On August 7, 2019, over 20 Civil Engineers members of ASCE Texas Section, NSPE-TX and AWWA joined together for Professional Engineers Day in El Paso, Texas. The City of El Paso Mayor and City Council issued a proclamation, that the 7th day of August shall be known as “Professional Engineers Day”.

In the wake of the shooting attack at a local Walmart in El Paso, the Civil Engineering community wanted to send a strong message of unity and resilience.

“It is more what connect us than what divide us, together we make our community stronger, and a better place for all,” said Sergio Mendez, ASCE El Paso Branch President.
