Webinar: Communicating with Elected Officials

This webinar will focus on the role and purpose of government affairs activity, how to build and navigate key political moments and relationships, and the types of tactics that can be used to make yourself heard at every level of government. It will be of particular interest to those who are new to government affairs, or who are starting to take responsibility for government affairs alongside another functional role at their company. More experienced members are also invited to participate and interact during the webinar.

Texas Concrete Pipe Association
Patrick Tarlton is the Executive Director of the Texas Concrete Pipe Association. He manages daily oversight and operations for the Association, while also advocating on behalf of the entire concrete pipe, box, and precast industries in Texas. The Texas Concrete Pipe Association represents more than 5,000 hardworking Texas families, and accounts for more than $1.5 billion of economic impact on the State of Texas each year.
The Texas Concrete Pipe Association (TCPA) serves as the voice for the concrete pipe and box culvert industries in the State of Texas. TCPA plays a vital role in promoting a resilient, modern, and sustainable infrastructure system for all Texans. Our goal is to increase knowledge and understanding of the proper application and use of products manufactured by its member companies, including reinforced concrete pipe, box culvert, manholes, inlets, and other precast drainage structures.
TCPA member companies include AmeriTex Pipe & Products, Forterra, Thompson Pipe Group, CAPA, Del Zotto Products, The Turner Company, and Rinker Materials. TCPA members are active at local, state and national levels in many technical and trade associations such as TPWA, APWA, ASCE, AGC, SAME, TSPE, ASHE, ASTM, TACERA, and AREMA. Prior to working for TCPA, Mr. Tarlton worked as the CEO for the Texas Deer Association, the Director of Government Affairs for the Texas Chemical Council, the Director of Government Affairs for American Electric Power, and the Chief of Staff for State Representative Pete P. Gallego.
Mr. Tarlton graduated from Sul Ross State University (SRSU) in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. In 2007, he earned a Masters in Public Administration from SRSU as well. Patrick recently served as a member of the Sul Ross State University Alumni Board of Directors. He also served on the Board of Directors for Sammy’s House, a non-profit organization benefitting children with special needs.
