Webinar: Failure Is Not An Option – Introduction to Dam Safety
July 27 @ 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CDT
As dams age and their surroundings change, the issue of dam safety becomes more and more important. The recently released 2021 Infrastructure Report Card by the Texas Section of ASCE noted a grade of D+ to Dams in Texas. This grade highlights the importance of immediate action to improve this critical infrastructure. A dam failure poses significant risks to life and property.
This webinar will cover the liability associated with dam ownership, hazard determination and the identification of deficiencies that may trigger potential threats to dam safety. Participants will finish this class with a better understanding of the principles necessary to identify and mitigate the risks associated with a potential structural failure of dams.
