August Technical Webinar: Prequalification of Contractors and the use of Competitive Sealed Proposals for Contractor Qualification
August 13 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm CDT
One of the keys to a successful construction project is to select the best contractor available to build the project. Two strategies for selecting the right contractor for a traditional design-bid-build project are to prequalify contractors before bids are opened and using competitive sealed proposals to evaluate offers and select the contractor for the project. Using one, or even both methodologies together can produce the desired results, if done properly. Since these strategies both bear the scrutiny of the public and the contracting community, they must be conducted with a prescribed methodology that can be presented and if need be, defended if the integrity of the process is challenged.
This webinar will present a proven process for both prequalification of contractors and the use of competitive sealed proposals, and the reasoning behind the methods used. It will further explore typical contractor concerns with these procedures and how these are addressed in the process without losing the benefits of these tools.
This webinar will be presented by Coy Veach P.E., CCM from Freese & Nichols, Inc. Thank you to the Texas Utility Engineering & Surveying Institute Chapter for sponsoring today’s session.
