The Texas Section of American Society of Civil Engineers announces the selection of Lindsay A. O'Leary P.E., LEED AP as its new executive director. The decision was made after a targeted search and careful selection including an interview process led by Past President Audra N. Morse Ph.D., P.E. The ASCE Texas Section Board of Direction approved the decision on October 12, 2016.

"We are pleased and excited to welcome her into the role," said ASCE Texas Section President Craig B. Thompson P.E., "the Section will benefit from Mrs. O'Leary's exuberance and drive, with her paving the way for an influx of fresh ideas and perspectives in the many facets of running a successful non-profit professional association."

Mrs. O'Leary is a civil engineer with ten years of experience, providing a range of civil and environmental engineering consulting services to private and public sector clients. Her areas of expertise include environmental compliance and monitoring, waste containment facility design and permitting for various waste streams, and performance evaluation. She also has experience with environmental site assessments (ESAs), oil and gas litigation, and water resources and mixed-use land development engineering.

Mrs. O’Leary has been involved with ASCE in many capacities including serving on the Austin Branch Board as a Younger Member Director, as well as The Austin Branch Younger Members Forum President and Treasurer as well as an active member of the Environmental & Water Resources Institute in ASCE Florida Section's East Central Branch.

She will assume the role of Executive Director from Crespin Guzman P.E., who has held the position since 2010 and is retiring after six years of steadfast guidance of the Section's leadership and a civil engineering career spanning 45 years.

“I look forward to serving ASCE Texas Section as Executive Director,” remarks Mrs. O’Leary.  “I am honored to join the energetic staff in Austin and support passionate ASCE volunteers throughout the State. ASCE is an amazing resource for civil engineers, offering opportunities such as networking, continued education, and recognition of technical excellence. My efforts will be devoted to the advancement of the civil engineering profession and leadership of the Section and it's 15 Branches. I will build upon the strong foundation laid by Mr. Crespin Guzman, and work diligently to ensure the Texas Section remains one of the most active sections within ASCE Global.”

Mrs. O'Leary graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. She currently resides in Austin. She will assume the role in early November.
