Ramon Lopez Recognized By ASCE as 2014 New Faces of Civl Engineering - College Edition

ASCE Texas Section member Ramon Lopez  was selected as 1 of 10 talented early achievers as this year’s New Faces of Civil Engineering – College Edition. Chosen for their academic accomplishments and commitment to serving others, these well-rounded students reflect the hope and promise of the next generation of civil engineers. Link

Ramon Lopez is in his fourth-year at the University of Texas Pan-American. He is involved with Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology—known as HESTEC—which encourages children to explore the fields of engineering, science and technology. Ramon is also a member of UPTA’s concrete canoe and steel bridge teams and serves as the vice president of organizations for UPTA’s ASCE student chapter.

Ramon initially planned to study architecture and interned with Lopez Engineering Group in McAllen, Texas as an architectural draftsman. However, during his internship he was exposed to civil engineering and decided to pursue civil engineering instead. Currently Ramon is a project management assistant with VCC General Construction.

Congratulations, Mr. Lopez!
