Let's Talk About Water

Free and Open to the public

UTEP College of Engineering, UTEP Department of English, and UTEP Center for Environmental Resource Management are sponsoring this event in coordination with the Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science, Inc. (CUAHSI) to draw attention to contemporary water resource issues and to facilitate dialogue with water resource management experts, local citizen stakeholders, scientists, engineers, and policy makers.

2pm  Film Screening: Last Call at the Oasis. This documentary sheds light on the vital role water plays in our lives, exposes the defects in the current system, shows communities already struggling with its ill effects and introduces us to individuals who are championing revolutionary solutions, such as activist Erin Brockovich and distinguished experts Peter Gleick, Alex Prud'homme, Jay Famiglietti and Robert Glennon.

 

3:30pm         Panel Discussants:
