2014 Announcement     Application Form

The Hawley Fellowship was established in 1961 to promote graduate study and research in hydraulic and environmental engineering. The Fellowship is supported by the John B. Hawley Memorial Fund, which was initiated within the Texas Section-ASCE by S.W. Freese and M.C. Nichols to honor a leading engineer in the early days of Texas.

 

The J. Walter Porter Memorial Fund was established in 1978 to finance annual fellowships for graduate study and/or research in Water Resources Engineering to individuals who demonstrate outstanding ability and promise of excellence in engineering.

     

The recipient must have an affiliation with the Texas Section-ASCE and with a Texas school at the time of application. The study should preferably be done in Texas. Please send questions and submissions to HawleyFellowship@texasce.org.

 

The recipient must be a member of the Texas Section-ASCE at the time of application, and the graduate study and/or research must be done in Texas. Questions and applpications should be sent to PorterFellowship@texasce.org.

Scholarships for Undergraduate Students

Several Branches of the Texas Section, as well as other organizations, support students enrolled in civil engineering programs with financial assistance in the form of scholarships. For more information on what may be available in your area click on the links below.

(for Civil Engineering majors at the University of Texas at Austin)

 

ASCE Dallas Branch
(for undergraduate students from the North Texas Area attending an ABET accredited program in Civil Engineering)

 

ASCE Houston Branch
(for students enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree plan at Prairie View A&M, Rice, or University of Houston)

 

ASCE West Texas Branch
(for students who reside in certain counties of west Texas - see the flyer at the link above for the list of counties)

 

Jere W. Thompson, Jr. Scholarship
(for full-time students pursuing a B.S. degree in Civil or Construction Engineering at a public or private college or university in Texas; this scholarship is available through the Dallas Foundation)
